Tours of Healesville Sanctuary and the Yarra Valley

The Yarra Valley is famous for more than just its wine. So why not combine some wine tasting with a visit to a couple of our other amazing attractions – Healesville Sanctuary and the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice creamery?

  • Run seven days a week
  • Winery lunch included
  • Includes entry into Healesville Sanctuary & free chocolate tastings
  • Small tours of 2-11 passengers only
  • Local guides and volunteers
  • Flexible itinerary – visit the chocolaterie or Gateway Estate

Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia’s most loved tourist attractions and the best place in Victoria to see and interact with native Australian wildlife in a natural bush setting.

The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie is an iconic Yarra Valley experience. As you enter, you’re invited to help yourself to the giant bowls of chocolates on tasting. Gaze into the kitchens and see the Belgian chocolatiers at work, as they create over 150 different types of chocolate, from lavish chocolate bars, to nut clusters and rocky road, bush tucker chocolates, plus macarons, fudge, nougat, mousse logs and even their own ice-cream. It’s impossible not to buy something. Fact.

Perhaps you’d prefer to visit Gateway Estate, a cellar door / farm gate experience where you can pick your own strawberries now that they’re in season!  Gateway Estate has 5,000sq m of hydroponic greenhouses and an amazing array of fresh produce you can buy and grow yourself or take home to eat straight away, plus of course their wines on tasting!

What will I get on the tour?

We’ll pick you up and take you to the Healesville Sanctuary so you can spend the morning getting up close and personal with Australia’s wonderful native wildlife. Then we’re off for a scrumptious lunch at a boutique Yarra Valley winery, with the opportunity to sample some stunning wines on tasting. And finally we’ll whisk you off to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie for some chocolate tastings or to Gateway Estate for some strawberry picking.

How big are the tours?

We keep our tours small intentionally (2 – 11 pax), so that everyone feels part of the group and can be involved and ask questions and be up at the cellar door sampling together.  We can cater for larger groups but they work best when everyone knows one another, so if you have your own group visit our group bookings page.

What sort of vehicle do we tour in?

You’ll find our touring vans comfortable and modern with air conditioning or heating depending on the weather.

How long do the tours go for?

Our tours generally run from 10.30am to 4.00pm.  If we pick you up in Melbourne the day goes from 9.30 to 5.00pm.
