My wife and I just spent a great day, guided by Ian, visiting four great wineries. Rather than the usual Yarra Valley names, we were treated to less known jewels in the Valley. Great service, lovely company and lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Yesterday we completed a private wine tour with Wild Wombat to the Yarra Valley.
Our tour guide, Bruce, was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. He made an effort to learn all of our names immediately, joined in conversations and shared information about places we were going along the way. Bruce even brought along some biscuits as an extra touch, he obviously loved and was fantastic at his job.
The tour ran very smoothly, we even had time to drop in at a dairy farm suggested by Bruce to taste fresh cheeses.
Our lunch options at Rochford were impeccable and we were extremely satisfied.
Our day finished with a small gift from Bruce to farewell the group. Overall great tour, amazing guide and a lovely experience.
I took the Highlights tour with Bill. I thought it was just right in terms of the stops and the time spent at each. With bus tours, sometimes you’re rushed through and I thought that might be the case when I heard the itinerary, but not at all. We had a full bus (11 people) but still had plenty of time for everything.I especially enjoyed the distillery tour (only available on the Highlights tour, I think) and the lunch at a new winery. The wine was consistently good but the pizza was spectacular – among the best I’ve ever had. Bill was a great host.
From answering questions over the phone through to booking and finally embarking on the tour, Wild Wombat were extremely helpful and delivered a wonderful experience.
Our guide, Chris, was happy and easy to chat to, plus took our tastes and past trips into consideration to ensure the group only visited new places for tastings that we specifically would enjoy. He was consistently knowledgeable and friendly, and the perfect mix of professional and casual.
Would definitely book with Wild Wombat again next time, and would certainly recommend them.
This is my fourth tour with Wild Wombat and I cannot recommend them enough. We met Gary today as our host. He was wonderful, very funny and a great singer too! We had such an enjoyable day visiting a variety of wineries and having a lovely lunch at Rochford. It is great that the tours are small groups and a lovely atmosphere on the bus. I always recommend Wild Wombat to friends and family wanting to tour Yarra Valley. Thanks for another amazing day!
This is our 3rd year of touring with Wild Wombat on a private tour, and second with Chris, possibly the best guide in Yarra Valley. We visited some great wineries and craft beer places, the highlights being the awesome lunch at Yarra Glen Hotel, which we had specially requested, and drinks on the deck at Helen and Joey winery. Being a beautiful spring day also helped add to the great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
